Intimacy in the Age of AI: Relationships, Infidelity and Attachment
As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly personalized, emotionally responsive, and available around the clock, it raises profound questions about intimacy, attachment, and fidelity. If AI can remember us, validate us, adapt to our needs, and offer constant companionship without conflict or demands of its own, how might this reshape human relationships?
This thought-provoking presentation explores the growing role of AI in emotional and relational life, examining how advances in technology are challenging traditional definitions of connection, attachment, and infidelity. Through discussion and live demonstrations, participants will consider the psychological, ethical, and clinical implications of AI companionship, including its potential impact on individuals, couples, and families. As AI continues to blur the line between tool and relationship, mental health professionals will be invited to reconsider what it means to be emotionally known, connected, and fulfilled in the digital age, and how this impacts the clients in their practice.
