The ADHD Clients You're Missing: Recognizing and Treating Adult ADHD in Your Caseload
This practical, strategy-focused course will help clinicians recognize how ADHD can present in adults and identify the clients who may be struggling with undiagnosed or undertreated ADHD. Participants will learn an integrated approach that goes beyond simply identifying symptoms to addressing the executive function challenges, self-concept, productivity, and relationship difficulties that often accompany adult ADHD.
Particular emphasis will be placed on translating and understanding of ADHD into practical interventions that clients can actually use in their daily lives. We will explore strategies for helping clients become more effective and productive while also developing greater self-compassion when they inevitably fall short of their own or others’ expectations.
The course will also examine the often-overlooked impact of ADHD on couples and intimate relationships, including how ADHD-related patterns can create frustration, resentment, and misunderstanding between partners. Clinicians will learn ways to help both partners understand these dynamics and develop more satisfying and collaborative relationships.
By the end of this course, participants will have a coherent, clinically useful framework for helping adults with ADHD function more effectively—and feel better about themselves—at work, at home, and in their relationships.
