Healing from the Trauma of Infidelity: Helping Clients Rebuild Trust and Foster Forgiveness After an Affair
This seminar is designed to be a comprehensive step- by-step (session by session) research- based program for helping clients heal from the trauma of infidelity. This workshop teaches some evidence-based approaches from the leaders in the field of couple’s therapy and infidelity treatment, including Dr. John Gottman and Dr. Shirley Glass. This seminar explores what infidelity looks like today, types of affairs, gender differences, warning signs, why it happens, how it happens and the trauma of the revelation. The treatment portion on this program will focus on how to rebuild trust, create meaning and understanding of the affair, foster genuine forgiveness and build protective factors (communication and conflict management strategies, positive sentiment, turning towards behaviors, rituals of connection). This seminar also includes numerous homework assignments or in-session enrichment activities for your clients.
