Dialectical Behavior Therapy: Applications in Clinical Practice
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), developed by Marsha LInehan in the early 1990s, has been widely researched and is highly regarded as an evidence-based practice utilized to effectively treat Borderline Personality Disorder. In recent years, the model has been adapted to also treat substance use and eating disorders. This course will provide an overview of DBT and its clinical application in various settings and with a variety of patient populations. Attendees will learn practical skills and understand what constitutes a comprehensive DBT program, including all four modes of the treatment and their functions, core theories, and strategies.
