Culturally Responsive Practice
This presentation provides a groundbreaking framework for integrating multicultural considerations into psychotherapy. The framework begins with the ADDRESSING acronym highlighting marginalized communities related to Age and generational roles and cohorts, Developmental or other Disability, Religion and spirituality, Ethnic and racial identity, Socioeconomic status, Sexual orientation, Indigenous heritage, National origin, and Gender. Participants will learn practical strategies, tools, and techniques for facilitating culturally responsive assessment and practice. Specific tools include the Personal Strengths Inventory, Compassion Voice, Attitude of Gratitude, Wise Elder, Most Generous Interpretation, Magic 3-Step Technique with kids, and many more.
This class meets the 4 hours of cultural diversity/social justice CE requirement for all licensed California Psychologists needed each renewal period.
